Why infobox?

Can we please revert back to the original infobooxs? This one used is too unflexible and I don't like all the red links.--Africa South 08:30, 11. Apr. 2009 (UTC)

Hi Africa South, the red links are gone. :-) Apart from that it seems to me that the new infobox is like the old one. The difference is, that changes may now be done centrally and not locally. What exactly do you mean with inflexible? Regards --Marbot 12:02, 14. Apr. 2009 (UTC)

I mean that it's difficult to add on extra sections (like Koordinate and county etc.)but also because what if a city doesn't have a flag, or a wapen, or a map or an image? The original can be changed by changing the headings etc. I don't mind this infobox as long as it's more 'flexible' :D Africa South 14:51, 14. Apr. 2009 (UTC)

Problems with the infobox

This is why I said the infobox is unflexible, in South Africa they don't have 'states' they have provinces (also like Canada!), and also the new pretoria infobox has a large space inbetween the title and image, while in Johannesburg, there is now a huge empty hole with a heading wappe. Can I also have some reference of where Wappe came from please? :) --Africa South 16:17, 18. Apr. 2009 (UTC)

Furthermore, Gauteng (the province) doesn't have a flag, it has a wappe(n) and I think we need to remove the border.--Africa South 16:18, 18. Apr. 2009 (UTC)

Hello Africa South, Why don't you use the talk page of the infobox since the problem is related to the infobox? However, I have removed the CoA of Gauteng since they do not seem to have one. I am sorry to have inserted it. The CoA for Pretoria was on afwiki. Perhaps the information there is wrong, too. I don't see strange positions of anything in Vancouver? Perhaps it is a problem related to the browser. Maybe Xqt has an idea. I have made an adjustment to the infobox to help the cause. Best regards. --Marbot 17:46, 18. Apr. 2009 (UTC)

The strange position of Faahne and Wappen in Vancouver appears only on IE. :-( Fx an O are ok. :-) I do not have C and S installed. Thus I cannot test them. :-( The gap between the name and the picture is caused by the posibility to insert the English or German name. Perhaps the infobox may be adjusted in an way that the gap vanishes as soon as no alternative names are insterted. Hmmm, perhaps the don't need it anyway since we have interwikis? Hi Marbot (can I call you Marby :D?), i'm sorry for being to picky, but can we changed the 'provinz odder schtaat' part so we can insert our own definition of what the name is, for example in Johannesburg I can type in |name of division: Provinz and then add? --Africa South 18:27, 18. Hi Africa South, yes you may. :-) We should not be to detailed. Land or Schtaat/Province is enough in my opinion since we have interwikis too. In Germany we could also add Landkreis or Kreis etc. which is really boring and does not increase necessary knowledge. The same would apply to division in South Africa, etc. --Marbot 12:32, 20. After creating Durban's infoboxs, I found some thing that we can change. I was wondering if we could chose instead of faahne or wappen if the city has none, then we can change the title and add another image, such as another map etc. Another thing is can we remove the border for the province flagge because some provinces only have a coat of arms and no flag, so they dont need a border. Furthermore, can we possibly be able to change the size of an image? The map in Durban seems a bit small.--Africa South 15:59, 7. Moi 2009 (UTC)
